A very brief update on our Max:
As many of you know, Max passed away very peacefully at home with his family. Part of his amazing last day can be found by doing a search under “Max Lebrevelec” or “Ellen Lebrevelec” for several news clips that were aired locally.
We were able to honor Max’s time with us with a beautiful mass on Monday morning and we thank all of you who were able to share that time with us, as well as those that sent your thoughts and prayers. We will be having another Mass for Max in New York on Saturday, October 4, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Seminary of Immaculate Conception.
Please check back as we update the site that Juliette and Steve were kind enough to set up last year and they have thoughtfully donated another year of time and funding to help us keep it active.

The Max Lebrevelec Foundation was established in January 2007 to benefit the families of children with transplants and blood diseases. It is our hope to alleviate the financial stress many families experience when trying to meet expenses not covered by current health insurance plans. These expenses include costs of extended lodging as near as possible to the transplant facility, gas and food expenses, insurance deductibles, and child care for other siblings who they are not able to be with during this time.
We are currently in the process of applying for 501 (c) status and have planned our first fundraiser for June 1, 2007. This year, event proceeds will benefit Max and the Lebrevelec Family. It is our hope that future events and donations will be able to benefit one of the many other families who have children who have had or who are waiting to have organ transplants, as well as support other worthy charities who are partners in our cause.
We have started this site so that people can learn about our foundation and its mission, learn about Max and have the opportunity to keep up to date on Max’s progress. Please feel free to look at the pictures and videos, and to sign our guest-book. As this is a new venture for us, we would certainly welcome any suggestions or comments you may have.
Your donations are always welcome and greatly appreciated by the family. Check may be made out to the Max Lebrevelec Foundation or directly to the Max Lebrevelec Wellness Fund. Donations to the Wellness Fund will benefit Max and the Lebrevelec Family only.
